On Friday and Saturday a number of Bells competed to Qualify to the
State Tournament in Fullerton this year in Lincoln Douglas Debate and
Policy Debate.

In Lincoln Douglas, 11 Bells competed against 60 other competitors for 9 slots.  Arvind Kannan (11), Chip Morton (11), and Captain Tim McKenzie (12) will represent Bellarmine at the State Tournament.  Andrew Nguyen (11), Satej Soman (9) and Wonchan Yi (9) are alternates.

In Policy Debate, 9 Bellarmine Teams battled against 15 teams from other schools for the 9 slots.  The teams of Nihaal Karnik (12) - Nihar Shah (12), Georgui Dimitrov (11) - Biz Walia (11), Nick Simmons (11) - Nate Wong (11), and Sagar Vijay (10) - Ani Deshmukh (10) earned their slots in the final round while the senior team of Bryant Yang - Daniel Chung and Team Captains Sahil Vora - Patrick Go earned their spots by completing the preliminary rounds undefeated.  Juniors Joe Grimes, Eric Maltiel, Ben Sigrist, and Terry Reilly are alternates.
